Yalda Party 2010 (Shab-e-Yalda 1389)

Dear friends,

Yalda is coming and we want to get together and celebrate it. There will be music, dance, friends and fun! Please join us at the following time and place:

Time: Friday, December 17th, starting 7:00 PM to 12:00 AM

Place: Nyumburu Cultural Center, located next to the Stamp Student Union, College Park, MD 20742

Quality traditional Persian dinner will be provided by the Caspian House of Kabob, followed by dancing, featuring our favorite DJ Safa and DJ Ariya. Tickets are available for online purchase for $17 through the link below and for $25 at the door. The last day to purchase online tickets is Friday, December 10th.

The Online/at the door ticket price is $25 effective on the day of the event.

You can help your IGSF by purchasing your tickets as early as possible! This will help us better organize the event.

The Start of Semester BBQ

The new semester is there. Let us meet, talk and barbecue!

When: Saturday, September 25th, 2010, 12:00 PM.

Beef and veggie burgers as well as chicken wings, together with soft drinks will be provided. The ticket is $8 per person and the deadline for buying the tickets is Wednesday, September 22nd. Friends and families are welcome! Since we have to know the exact number of attendees in advance, THERE ARE ONLY ONLINE TICKETS AVAILABLE AND NO TICKETS WILL BE SOLD ON THE DAY OF THE EVENT.

Persian New Year Party (1389)

The most cherished and celebrated event of the Persian calendar, Norouz, is close. Join us around our decorated Norouz table for celebrating the new year of 1389 together. Let’s start a brand new year in a joyful and friendly environment, surrounded by familiar faces and lots of music and dance. The event is hosted by Iranian Graduate Student Foundation (IGSF) of the University of Maryland.
Date & Time: Saturday, March 20, at 8:00 PM -12:00 AM
Location: Graduate Hills Community Room, 3406 Tulane Dr. Hyattsville MD 20783
Traditional dinner will be provided by the Caspian House of Kabob (Joojeh Kabob, Kabob Koobideh and Ghormeh Sabzi). Dinner to be followed by dancing, featuring our favorite DJ Safa and DJ Ariya. Yalda Party

Dear Friends,
We would like to get together and celebrate Shabe Yalda. The party will be held at Calvert House Inn. Before the dinner we are going to meet and reconnect each other. After the dinner we will have bar, DJ music, dance, and tons of fun. Also we will be having an election for the new IGSF board positions.

IGSF Beginning of Semester Party

Dear Friends: Fall 2009 semester began and with all the new friends and old ones back to school, it’s time for IGSF’s annual party. We would like to get together and celebrate the beginning of the new academic year. It will be a great opportunity for current and previous members to catch up and meet our new friends who have just joined the community. Date and Time: Saturday Oct 10, 2009; 8:00 PM - 11:30 PM Place: Atrium in Stamp Union As for the previous events we will have DJ, dance, and tons of fun. Tickets are $8.00 per person. Please be advised that Thursday October 8 is the last day for purchasing the tickets. However, earlier purchases are highly encouraged to help IGSF organizing and conducting a better event.

IGSF BBQ

Dear Friends, It's summer, time to BBQ! IGSF would like to invite you all to a BBQ gathering in Black Hill Regional Park on Sunday 07/19/09 from 11 am until 6 pm. We will prepare burgers (vegetarian as well), bread, snacks, water, soft drinks, plates, cups, and ... so you don't need to bring anything, just show up and enjoy. The park has a lake that can be enjoyed with rental rowboats, canoes, or pontoon boats. You can find more info. about the park at http://www.montgomeryparks.org. Tickets are available to purchase on IGSF website for $5 per person. As always, we need to have an accurate headcount for preparation so the last day to purchase tickets is Friday 17th.
