Yalda Party

We would like to get together and celebrate Shabe Yalda. The party will be held at Graduate Hills Community Room Before the dinner we are going to meet each other, reconnect and get to know the new students who join us this year. After the dinner we will have music, dance, and tons of fun. Also we will be having an election for the new IGSF board positions.

IGSF Beginning of Semester Party Cancelled!

Fall 2008 semester is approaching fast! Let's have a party!

We would like to get together and celebrate the start of the new academic year. The party will be held at Calvert House Inn. Before the dinner we are going to meet each other, reconnect and get to know the new students who join us this year. After the dinner we will have bar, DJ music, dance, and tons of fun.

Date and Time: Saturday Sep 6, 2008, 7:30PM-2:00AM (Dinner will be served at 9:00PM, after party starts at 10:30PM)
Place: 6211 Baltimore Ave. (Route 1), Riverdale, MD 20737 (also see directions on Calvert House Inn website)

Tickets are limited and we need to have an accurate headcount for dinner and after party. So, the last day you can purchase your ticket(s) is Wednesday August 27, 2008. Tickets are sold online here at the bottom of this post or you can purchase them 10:00AM-4:00PM in cash at room 0122F, Engineering Lab building (Bldg. # 089). Tickets are $18 for dinner and after party and $8 for the after party only.

Admission to the event will be strictly based on the type of ticket you hold. Also there will be checks at the door to prevent underage drinking. So, to avoid any problems please make sure to have an ID on you on the day of the event.

If you are faculty, staff or a registered student at university of Maryland, you are cordially invited to join us. It is a non-profit, non-religious, non-political organization, established for the expressed purpose of developing leadership skills as well as an awareness of social responsibilities to encourage students to participate in public affairs. Also, IGSF tends to praise and promote Iranian traditions and culture and make people familiar with these traditions.
